Fleurs de Villes is returning with its floral installation extravaganza in the lobby of New York’s Hudson Yards starting October 6. I will be joining judges Corrine Heck from Details Flowers and Meredith Wing from Moo Mooi. We will evaluate the floral installations in categories like Most Realistic, Most Creative, and Best in Show.

More than 14 talented florists will present 10-foot tall flower-infused installations inspired by iconic destinations, all free for the public to enjoy. It also serves as a fantastic spot for capturing memorable Instagram photos. Last year’s theme celebrated iconic women.

Led by Tina Barkley and Karen Marshall, Fleurs de Villes has captivated flower enthusiasts worldwide through shows created over the past four years.

These installations require days of dedicated work. Every flower is secured to a tube and carefully placed into the mannequins, ensuring the display lasts for 10 days. Florists skillfully manipulate shapes, select colors, and create a sense of movement as part of their artistic process. Thousands of blooms are used to inspire joy, excitement, and wonder among viewers. Additionally, floral classes are available to teach flower arranging techniques.

Jennifer Reed: Philadelphia Flower Show

This week, I will showcase works from these floral artists, including two award-winning designers from the prestigious Philadelphia Flower Show — Jennifer Reed of Jennifer Design Events and Daica Skrobala of Polycarp Flowers.

Polycarp Flowers

While this is Jennifer Reed’s first Fleurs de Villes participation, Polycarp Flowers has crafted several installations before, including last year’s “Funny Girl” interpretation and the rose display raising awareness for cancer survivors seen above.

This year, Polycarp Flowers has revealed their installation theme will be inspired by India.

The public can also vote for their favorite installation at the show. Casting your vote enters you for a chance to win a holiday at the Hamilton Princess Bermuda, along with social media contests offering $500 gift card prizes.

Returning participants include Larkspur Botanicals, who interpreted Bette Midler for the Femmes show, and Raven Hollow Guild with an installation inspired by Lady Gaga.

It’s a wonderful way to enjoy an afternoon with the chance to win prizes. I hope to see you there Friday morning, though the show runs through the 15th.

Other participating florists include Flowers by Olga, Cecilia Hill Floral Design, EMY Custom Flowers, LLC, House of Bernal, Garddirani, Picaso Flowers, Kreofino, Lianna Nelson, Lorena Eni Flowers, Piropo Flowers, Stellar Style Events LLC, and Yours Truly Flowers.

“We are thrilled to return to our New York City home at Hudson Yards with our latest show –
Fleurs de Villes VOYAGE – inviting people on a floral journey to iconic global
destinations,” said Karen Marshall, Co-founder of Fleurs de Villes Inc. “Flowers have a unique
power to unite people worldwide and foster cultural understanding. This new
flower exhibition aims to do exactly that!”
